Dalcha Sayur

Dalca Sayur is a side dish of vegetable curry that is slightly thick in texture. Popularly present with dishes such as Nasi Briyani, Nasi Minyak and Nasi Tomato. It is a simple and flavorful recipe that you can use to fulfill the vegetable requirements of your meal.


Ingredients:

300gm Yellow Lentil, pre-soaked over night
3 cups Water
50gm Turmeric Powder
20gm Coriander Powder
50gm Eggplant, cubed
50gm Potato, cubed
60gm Carrot, cubed
50gm Long Bean or French Bean, cut 4cm length
40gm Cabbage, cubed
150gm Shallot, blended
100gm Garlic, blended
100gm Ginger, blended
1 stalk Curry Leaves
2gm Mustard Seed
2gm Fennel Seed
2gm Cumin
80gm Ghee Oil


 

Direction:

      1. Boil water in a pot, add yellow lentils until soft.
      2. Melt ghee oil in a wok or pan, sweat shallot, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, mustard seed and cumin seed until fragrant.
      3. Add turmeric powder and coriander powder until oil separates.
      4. Add boiled lentils and all vegetables. Simmer and season to taste.
      5. When vegetables are soft, it is ready to be served.
